Edit from several years later: I no longer agree with this project. While I will leave it otherwise untouched, and the information is correct (if potentially outdated), it doesn't quite cover the whole story. For example, on a food level, Soy farms and farms for other vegan food sources produce a lot of waste and take up even more land, leading to increased clearings. On a larger, more realistic level, the actions of individuals don't matter, because individuals aren't the problem. Corporations and societies are. The US military alone contributes more waste than 100 countries put together and isn't restricted by safe disposal laws. If you want to save the world, unionize. Vote. Attend protests. Volunteer. Participate in mutual aid. Together we are enough.
