Press the green flag to launch the starting screen. Press the space bar to enter halftime. Hey band! Congrats on a successful show! Now, it's your job to get from the last set of halftime to the first set of the 3-in-1. Be careful though: sousaphones are known to run wildly during this scatter drill. Using the arrow keys, get from your final halftime position to the 3-in-1 without being sideswiped by a sousa. For each run-through, your 3-in-1 dot is marked by an orange Block I. Just don't mix up this dot with the I in the center of the field! How many run-throughs can you survive? Will you make it? Or will you end up on the highlights reel at the end-of-year banquet for all the wrong reasons? I-L-L!
During every halftime performance, members of the Marching Illini "scatter" from the final set of their weekly halftime show into the first set of the traditional "Three-In-One", a piece deeply enriched with Illini history and pride. As a member of the Marching Illini, my biggest gameday fear was being sideswiped by a sousaphone (a marching tuba) during this conversion. So when I was assigned to create a game as part of Harvard's CS50 class as I was missing all things orange and blue, I knew exactly what I wanted to make.
