He dwells on the past and his regrets and is easily sidetracked, but can keep calm under a lot of pressure. He was easily picked out as the brightest of his class and quickly excelled through school at an almost alarming pace, despite being picked on and frequently even hurt for never leaving the side of his twin sister, Yosefa Kophski, whom he was completely devoted to throughout his childhood and teen years. By the age of twenty, he had already received proper qualifications to work as a dental surgeon at a local office, as the study of teeth was his greatest passion. However, a Lionel Müller, a close cousin whom had loathed Markus since they were children for never speaking to him when he’d tried to communicate and still somewhat ignored Lionel, killed himself and made it seem as if had been Markus who had done it. Markus was quickly evicted from the town, accompanied by a former professor at the local college, Johannan Faust, a man who’d been imprisoned for trying to expose the corrupt governmental system to the people. He volunteered to take Markus himself to a safe place, then return. The two burned the town to the ground on their way out and made their way to the Americas, where they joined a small traveling circus for the first few years of their time together. Markus took no time at all to fall in love with and become completely devoted to. They traveled around for a few decades, and soon after coming across the truth that Johannan was, in fact, the Faust who had signed a contract with the very devil in the pursuit of knowledge and greed, the demon giving him immortality until the preordained day of his death, Markus found a way to extend his own mortal life through splicing and distortion.
