I was walking through the forest, on Halloween night. I had been dared, by my best friend Jaylin, to run back to the old wood cabin we found a few days ago. As I was running, I heard the sound of twigs snapping under my feet. It was an Autumn evening, so it was chilly outside. I had forgotten my sweater at home, so I was quite cold by the time I reached the cabin. I slowly approached its old, run-down wooden doors, and... creeeak! I opened the door by a crack. But what I saw in the cabin terrified me. It grabbed me with shady, black arms and took me inside. I tried to scream, but the cold arms covered my mouth. “Don’t scream, child. It’ll only make things worse.” The creature hissed in my ear. I squeezed my eyes tightly shut. When I opened my eyes again, we were about to enter a portal. To where? I had no idea. The creature took me along with him, into the swirling portal. Inside the portal, I felt like I was about to throw up. Everything was spinning purple and blue, it made me feel dizzy. When we reached the end of the portal, we were in a whole new world. Every inch of the area was covered in the shady black figures, and when I first reached the world they all swarmed up in front of me, saying things like: “Fleshie? In our world?” And: “New skin... tiny thing...” and: “Can I touch it?” My kidnapper snatched me away quickly and brought me to his home. (At least I thought it was his home.) When I first looked down to myself to see if I was still in one piece, I realized that my body was covered in dark, black burns. “You must have many questions, child Fleshie.” Said the black creature. “I d-do,” I said back, terrified. “I am a Shade,” said the black figure in a raspy voice. “And welcome to Limbo.”
