RedOS App Concept - Music Studio For @-RedOS- in @OSWars @CeIIs *Fullscreen recommended. This is a "Music Studio" app design concept. This app is designed to have some basic functions of a DAW. (Digital Audio Workstation) If you are familiar with FL Studio, you would know how this app concept works, but if you aren't, read below: 1. Basic song settings: (top row, third module) a. Pattern/song looping: an option to loop either the selected pattern (see 2. [Patter Picker]) or the playlist. (see 4. [Playlists]) b. Timer: show where the player is playing in your pattern/playlist. c. Play/pause button: play/pause playback. d. Tempo settings: set the tempo of the song. 2. [Pattern Picker]: Patterns are groups of sequences from the [Channel Rack]. They can be deployed and arranged in the Playlists module to form a song. The Pattern Picker allows you to create, manage, customize, and select patterns to edit in the [Channel Rack] or deploy in the [Playlists]. 3. [Channel Rack]: The [Channel Rack] allows you to edit what's inside a pattern. There are channels in the [Channel Rack], each assigned with an instrument by clicking the grey button between the [Piano Roll] button and the instrument name. Channels can be added, deleted, muted/unmuted, amplified, assigned with instruments, or sent to sequence in the [Piano Roll]. Delete a channel - press and hold? click edit instrument and choose delete? 4. [Playlists]: This is where you arrange your song. You can deploy patterns and arrange them to your liking. The playlist can be extended to fit your needs? Delete a pattern - press and hold? pull into a specific spot? 5. [Piano Roll]: You can edit the sequence for a specific channel in the [Piano Roll]. Instructions: a. Click on a blank spot to create a note. b. Drag an existing note to move it around. c. Drag the end of the note to change its length. d. Delete a note - press and hold? pull into a specific spot? 6. Saving and Loading: (first row, second module) Unfortunately, scratch does not support exporting creations as audio files, so we store your creations in plain text in the RedOS File System to be stored, encrypted, and delivered to you on System Logout. You can also manually retrieve your code from the RedOS File System? Notes: There are some sentences that ended with a question mark (?) in the explaimation above. Those are functions I'm unsure of what to decide. Please voice your opinions below in the comment section. Note: The colors of the patterns in the [Pattern Picker] and [Playlists] are supposed to be customizable by the user, so please don't criticize the color of the patterns. Made in Affinity Designer.
