Have a traumatized child and bad badstory writing
Backstory yay- The first years of her life were normal. She was a middle child of two normal commoners, both of her siblings males. Everything could have stayed just as normal as it began. Until that day when, in a tragic accident, Sana's younger brother Ashe drowned while they were playing by the river. It could have been passed for an accident, which it was, had Sana not dove in, frantically searching for Ashe. She found him, and dragged him out of the water, desperately trying to use her fledgling power to heal him. But the dead can't be healed. Sana's father and older brother found her at the edge of the riverbed, hunched over Ashe's dead body. In absolute fury and despair, her father struck out at her, causing the scar over her left eye. When he dragged her back to their home, he and Sana's mother got into an argument over whether it was an accident or not. All while Sana sobbed where she had been thrown by her father. She doesn't remember much from that day, but she does know that by the time the sun set, Ashe and her mother were both dead. The years following are only fragmented memories. Mainly pain, and darkness. But also her father's furious face, her brother's leer. The words "You'll pay for the rest of your life." The first true clear memory of that time was the moment she was driven too far. It was fire- that was her brother's power. And she was being burned with it. That's when she just snapped. Leaving her father and brother dead behind her, she fled. Somehow, she ended up with the cult.
