**accepted as adventure co** hey! this is my application for being a leader/co :) IM SO EXCITED FOR SWC SWC SWC SWC! anyways, thanks to sunny and icy for hosting, and i hope you like it! the excerpts are below: (there are two: one short paragraph and then some from a book written in free verse) sorry if the context doesn't really make sense its not from the beginning. #1 - historical fiction in free verse about a girl going on the oregon trail - Some nights I hear Mother and father talking They talk about Ann and I Or sometimes money Father tells Mother that When we move to the west We will not have Money Problems Money problems? We don’t have Money problems We have a house New clothes Lots of food A warm bed Friends Not Any More No Friends My mind wanders Back to Clara I long For Jane And her big smile Her auburn hair Blowing in my face Her light giggles Ringing in my ears I lie on my bed Thinking about our journey to come It is exciting Yet Scary ⬨⬨⬨ The next day Clara announces That she will move too That afternoon I see Jane With her eyes Wet Sitting in the back row And Suddenly I understand After class I run To catch up with her As she sprints towards her home “Jane!” I shout She turns her head But keeps running I catch up to her And place my hand on her shoulder She turns back and looks At me with Longing eyes I give her a hug “I’m so, so sorry,” I say to her softly I feel bad now I don’t want to move Anymore I want to stay here With Jane “It’s okay, Alice,” She says And forces a smile “I wish you could come,” I tell her “Me too,” She says “But I can’t,” I stare at her shining Hazel eyes And feel a tear Trickling down my check Why did life have to be So hard? I wish Jane could come I really did I wish things didn't Have to change Even with my feelings I put on a smile And keep going We walk home together Talking Like nothing Has happened It’s not until I get home That it settles on me It’s not that I won’t see Jane for Some weeks Next month I won’t See Jane Ever Again #2 - real-fic (that i stopped becuz i didn't like the idea anymore but i still am using an excerpt) about this girl... there's not much plot to the story lol thats why i stopped it - People ran past me in the hallway, but I just stood there, unable to move. I felt like so many things had happened even though it really was simple: Kenna’s gone. My brain was still trying to process it, thinking that that was all just a dream and I would wake up any second now. I didn’t wake up though, because it truly was real. thats it! i hope you liked everything, even my cringy writing, and thanks for reading :D
