ᴘʀᴏʟᴏɢᴜᴇ ``````````````````` Softstar scanned the clearing warily, ears perked and gaze steady. Rabbitshade watched her with keen eyes, and she felt her heart lurch. What had gone wrong between them? She shook her head, trying to erase her wistful memories of the carefree times her and her mate had had as apprentices and young warriors; She was at a gathering, and she needed to look presentable for her Clan. Frogstar- leader of Thunderclan- suddenly tensed, and he looked around. "Shadowclan is late, once again," he scoffed, lifting his head arrogantly. Wrenstar- leader of Riverclan- shrugged. "Maybe we should start without them?" Softstar paused, feeling the gaze of both leaders and the cats in the clearing below focused on her. She wanted to embrace the attention, but she forced herself not to, and instead nodded. "Mudstar probably got lost. You know how she is." There was a ripple of agreement and uncertainty from the Clans, until they settled down. As Frogstar began his announcements, Softstar spotted her kits- Firepaw and Rosepaw- in the clearing. The two apprentices whispered eagerly to each other, sharing the same energetic gaze. Silentcry, a warrior who sat next to them, shushed them with an agitated glare. They became quiet... But what had they been talking about? Softstar was jerked out of her thoughts as she realized it was her time to speak. "Windclan is well," she announced. It was a good thing to start off with- especially since some cats seemed to think lowly of the eager Clan. "Havenpaw and Lilypaw are now apprentices, and Tinypaw has received her warrior name; Tinystep." She waited for the cheers to die down before nodding. "That is all." As the Clans poured out of the gathering clearing, Softstar realized something; Shadowclan never came. Something had happened... But what?
