You can't really blame me, though, especially if you *were* me. "A special kid," my teachers always told my parents back in grade school, "A lot of talents- he just has to have the courage to bring them out." Well, screw my old teachers. And screw courage, too. I don't know what my old teachers thought of me- I mean, I don't *have* any noticeable talents. Well, I can tie my shoes really fast. But, I mean, where are you going to get in life with that kind of specialty? When applying for a job what are you going to put- "I can tie my shoes at an incredible pace"? Dream on, kid. Oh, and here's another thing about me; Socializing is.. Not my strong suit. Like, at all. So I always happened to be the kid that notices every little thing about people- The kid that sits in the back of the class and never gets called on because the teachers seem to take a hint. Well, that was until December 12, at Oscar A. Academy. I didn't know it then, but my life had changed forever. ... I took my usual spot; In the back of the class, alone, until other students started filing in. A girl named August Grace sat next to me. I'm sure the hazel-eyed girl would've moved if she could, but Mrs. Klin wouldn't allow it. Actually, Mrs. Klin didn't allow anything other than working and silence. Oh, and homework. Too bad I didn't find interest in August anyway- well, except her backstory, but... That's for another time. I saw some kids who'd I never really talked to start sitting down- Like Felix Alwater, who sat in-front of me. I didn't know much about him, as he seemed like a pretty standoffish guy, but I was hoping I could find out soon. You know what they say; The more you know, the more you succeed. Or... Something like that. Quill Yamasaki sat down on the other side of the room, glaring at me. She's been doing this since she first saw me (Which was about a year ago, when I joined Oscar A.), but I still don't have a clue why. What did I ever do to her? My thoughts (Not like they were much of an importance anyway) were interrupted as Mrs. Klin cleared her throat in a menacing growl, narrowing her eyes at all of us. Her piercing gaze settled on me. I swear whenever she gives me that look she's out to get me. "So," she grumbled in her usual monotone voice, "we have a new student. Everyone meet-" The grouchy teacher was interrupted by a slightly tallish girl with long ginger hair and charming green eyes. "I'm Sophia Davidson! It's a pleasure to meet you all." I was surprised (And slightly agitated) at the fact that Mrs. Klin didn't scold her for interrupting her. In fact, she actually *smiled*. I could already tell you could go places with this "Sophia." But the question was, were these places good, or bad?
(Sorry for any mistakes, I wanted to post this quickly and kind-of just skimmed over it.) The first chapter of DYTM! Did you guys enjoy it? >:D This chapter was more made for Sophia to come along, so before we start any "real" tension. Damien seems kind of like a depressed soul ;w; Anyway, I just threw (*cough* yeeted *cough) a few characters into here, including Felix (Owned by @Peachy_RPs) who will become major in August's PoV in possibly just a few chapters (Peachy knows why *inesrt lenny face here*). Quill (@CherryCat10) was so fun to write about xD She kind-of just glared at poor Damien from the side x3 Hope you likey! -- Characters: + Damien Docks + August Grace + Mrs. Klin (Probably won't ever appear again eheh) + Felix Alwater (@Peachy_RPs) + Quill Yamasaki (@CherryCat10) + Sophia Davidson
