- WASD or arrow keys to move around. - Use the mouse to point, and spacebar or click to shoot at the enemies. - Hover over enemies to see how much health they have - If your tank touches an enemy (even a dead one), your tank will explode. - Defend your tank from the bugs for as long as you can, without letting your tank explode. Pressing a number key will allow you to change your weapon. Weapons are as follows: 1 - Canon [one bullet at a time. make them count.] 2 - Shotgun [multiple pellets and shards of bullets get thrown about. more spread damage] 3 - Flamethrower [time to fulfill your innate pyromania with spread damage that deals extra damage over a short period of time] 4 - Electric [stuns enemies and deals a fair bit of damage, even to surrounding enemies that get electrocuted] 5 - Laser [deals medium damage to all enemies that fall in a single line] 6 - Minedrafter [plants mines on the ground, which blow up any land enemies that touch it, and has a short-range melee attack] 7 - Rocket Launcher [Shoots multiple rockets that deal medium damage with a relatively short cooldown] 8 - Railgun [Large damage to most enemies, with a longer cooldown. Is effective against bosses and other enemies with antimatter immunity] 9 - Plasma [short cooldown to charge up and deals damage across a moderate period of time, can also easily hit bunched up enemies] 0 - Toxic [Poisons enemies in a short range, and they will continue to lose health over time, unless they are a roach.] Special Weapons: t - Ice [freezes enemies] y - Stealth [shorter detection range and double damage bullets that can ricochet] u - Swift [faster tank speed, multiple bullets and rapid fire] i - Seismic [stuns and damages any land enemies in your surroundings] o - Bubble-maker [pushes enemies away with long-range bouncing bubbles] p - Antimatter [deals massive damage to enemies in the small radius of where you shoot your bombs] Some weapons are only available after surviving a set amount of time, or levels. All weapons are immediately unlocked in freeplay. Also as you progress, you will encounter different types of enemies, some with certain immunities, or certain weaknesses. Upon killing certain enemies your score will increase by different amounts. Enemies: {Note that BOSS enemies can attack anything} - Jango (Beetle) --> High health and low-moderate speed - Coulson (Dragonfly) --> Flying, mine and earthquake immunity, very speedy, can also kill ladybugs - Jackie (Ladybug) --> Small, spawns quickly, eats aphids, takes less damage to electric weapons - Cyrus (Ironclad Beetle) --> Very high health, slow, antimatter immunity - Boomer (Explosive Beetle) --> High health, large corpse that can kill nearby enemies as well. Stay away from him if he's low on health! - Anita (Queen Ant) --> Lays eggs that hatch into ants, relatively small and fast - Jim (Worker Ant) --> Hatches from Anita's eggs, small, low health, won't try to attack the tank. - {BOSS} Flint (Spider) --> Very high health, very fast, moves even faster when hungry and kills almost everything in its path, including other enemies! - Ariel (Aphid) --> Small, low health, grows bigger over time until it is big enough to create clones of itself. Can be eaten by ladybugs. - {BOSS} Harper (Hornet) --> Big, very fast, flying, mine and earthquake immunity, won't always try to attack you, unless it is hungry (when it has its stinger out), can damage spiders and various other enemies when hungry too. - Richard (Roach) --> High health, medium speed, toxic resistance, can regenerate health. - {BOSS} Maria (Mantis) --> Extremely high health, very fast when prey is near (including your tank and other enemies) and kills almost all enemies instantaneously. - Charlie (Centipede) --> Grows longer and gains health over time, relatively slow, will not try to kill you, but it cannot be pushed away by any attacks, including bubbles. This was by far the hardest to code and an enemy that can cause unbearable amounts of lag. - Gary (Grasshopper) --> Not very much health, but it can pick a direction and jump in that direction. Just make sure it doesn't pick your direction, because once it is in motion, it is harder to steer it off track.
Do remix this project and make some mods or custom enemies! (I might implement them or similar concepts here and give you a shoutout if they are really good) ----------------------------------------------------------- Let's get to 800 views, 30 hearts & stars! yay 700 views, and we have hit 25 hearts and stars!!!! I have also decided to shoutout in the comments the 30th person to heart/favourite this game. ----------------------------------------------------------- There may be some bugs with the gameplay (Haha get it? It was a pun...), because if there are too many enemies on the screen, some weapons do not work, new enemies cannot spawn or some animations cannot play. I.e. DONT LET THE APHIDS TAKE OVER THE SCREEN [Because of the 300 clone limit] The High Score Variable will be reset after every major update. So far, the survival, freeplay and spectator game modes are in the game. In survival, you unlock weapons as you get points, but in freeplay, you can play without any scoring system and use whatever weapons are in the game, and learn how to use them efficiently. In spectator, you can just watch as the insects wander the field and try to kill each other, while you do not have to worry about dying, as you will not have a tank to control in this game mode. [btw if you randomly see a bunch of variables show when you press z, they are just a few random developer tools]
