John met Maddison and Black Leader/Red Leader had turned her to their side. John gets really scared because Maddison has been his best friend for a long time. He sees something wrong with her and decides to go tell the others but Maddison (controlled by both Red/Black Leader) pushes him off the cliff but regains her true self again and saves him. Later on, John forgave Maddie and gave her a special choker that he made on his own and told her to never take it off. The choker has the ability to keep Maddie from going under the leaders' control.
