Beta 1.4 version for my upcoming game/sim Empire Use the mouse to interact. You can drag and scroll to move and zoom on the map (or use wasd and q and e) What's next? - "Tutorial" - MAJOR optimizations - Global Dynamics - Alliance/enemies web - Factions and faction dynamics - Rivals - Battles/War - Ally response/Aid - Gaining Territory - Campaign and sandbox modes Update Log: 2/29/20: - Normalized ally system - Ally bond strength and allyship attributes - Changed the industry system to make investing more worthwhile (buffed all industries) 2/24/20: - Added pre-game screen - Added UI toggles in the map - You can no longer spend more money than you own - Added a new 'error' sound effect 2/22/20: Beta 1.4 - Added randomized allies and factions (initial generation) - Added randomized country names - Complete map redesign - Added map mouse controls (click and drag, scroll wheel) 2/15/19: Beta 1.3.3 - Completed finance sub tabs (added another) - Completed TaxAtt (Public services attributes) - Almost finished tax mechanic (overthrow/revolution mechanic doesn't exist yet) - Major performance issues both in the code and playing the game normally. Experiencing lower frames on 2 out of the 4 finance sub-tabs and frame drops when purchases are made. This game will not run well on chromebooks. Also the lag of just rendering the code is making this project a pain to edit. This is the main reason it's been a full week since Beta 1.3.2 was released. 2/9/20: Beta 1.3.2 - Completed finance sub tabs - Completed IndAtt (Industrial Attributes) for each industry - Removed "ColorCode" line graph element, decided to scrap the legend. Colors on the line graph are now consistent with the bar graph. - Added investment functionality in the 3rd finance sub tab ToDo: -Taxes and domestic politics 2/8/20: Beta 1.3.1 - Added the finance sub tabs - Added icons for finance sub tabs - Added more industry functionality ToDo: - Taxes - Investments from the finance tab (dial sub tab) 2/8/20: Beta 1.3 - The Econ Update Added industry functionality Added Redzones Added Market Crashes ToDo: The graphic for the 3 sub tabs in the finance section The graphs for the 3 sub tabs in the finance section The finance section The tax system (similar to the industry system, but deals with public services and is not as complicated) Alerts and "excuses" 2/3/20: Beta 1.2 changes: Added sounds for menus Purchases decrease your money (yes, you can have -3.47 Billion dollars, go ham) Added income (still much work to be done here) ToDo: - Industries - Each industry will have different "personalities" or behaviors. Some will be fast to build up, but won't offer much at higher levels. Others will be a long term investment being virtually useless until enough resources are put in to them. The "Finance" tab will track the percentage of your income that comes from each industry as well as your total income trends for each industry (and taxes, and overall). To encourage diverse markets, I plan to add a "Market Crash" mechanic where certain industries can experience crashes and temporarily offer next to no additional income. Some industries will be more susceptible to crashes and others will be more stable. That'll be the gist of the "Finance" tab and the econ mechanics. 2/2/20: Beta 1.1 changes: - Renamed to "Empire". - Vision for the game defined - Map control tweaks - Convenience features for the nested list system - Progression defined 2/1/20: Released Beta 1.0 Features: Nested list selection system Map (still needs tweaking) There is no 'game' to play yet, it's just a bare bones engine.
