the lewis gun m1914 was the allies first successful lmg of world war 1 , though nearly outclassed by its predecessors , the lewis gun was still fatal towards its enemies, it saw action in the meuse argonne offensive and later battles of the war, holding 47 rounds in its standard magazine, enough ammo to take out on coming infantry,the lewis gun was fired most accurately with a bi-pod but it could be fired from the hip. the lewis gun was later used again in the second world war. not only was it used for infantry. lewis gun was mounted to aircraft, tanks , and other armored vehicles.
