I learned this concept back a few years ago. Instead of creating a bunch of sprites, we can use costumes, variables, and cloning to create a just as or even more efficient way of side scrolling. Finding a way not to have the black bar is tough, being that the sprite will still show itself but it will be clipped off at the side. I haven't found a reliable way to get rid of that but I know that someone can do it. I hope you enjoy the tutorial and get your Scratch on!
