Bisexual: A person who feels romantic attractions to two or more genders. Cisgender: A person who identifies as the gender they were assigned to at birth. Coming Out: Telling someone you are close to that you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Discrimination: Unfairly condemning someone to something Demigender: Partially but not fully of their gender Exclusionist: A person who thinks that some parts of the LGBTQ+ acronym shouldn't be in the community. (Mainly targeted at asexuals, but I've also seen it toward pansexuals and even trans people) Gay: Having a sexual or romantic attraction to people of your gender, especially used in the context of men who love exclusively other men Gender non-conforming: People whose gender presentation doesn't align with their gender identity Genderfluid: Not having one gender for a long period, often changing gender. Heteroflexible: 'Mostly straight'- leaning towards attraction to another gender, but with a mild attraction to the same gender. Heterosexual: Another word for straight. Someone who feels a romantic attraction to someone of a different gender. (normally ManxWoman) Homoflexible: 'Mostly gay'- leaning towards attraction to the same gender, but with a mild attraction to a different gender. Homophobe: A person who is intolerant toward LGBTQ+ Homosexual: Another more technical word for gay. Someone who feels a sexual attraction to someone of their gender. Intersex: A person who was born with any variant to gender characteristics Lesbian: A woman who feels a romantic attraction to other women Non-binary: Not defining or born as male or female (the "binary" genders) Non-cisgender: Not cisgender- can be trans people, non-binary people, and cis demigender folks (by which I mean AMAB demiboys and AFAB demigirls) Omnisexual: A person who feels attraction to all genders, but with preferences. Pansexual: A person who feels attraction to EVERY gender, without preferences. (Genderblind attraction) Straight: Same as heterosexual; attraction to the opposite gender (the most common sexuality; not part of LGBTQ+- in case you were wondering) Tolerance: Acceptance of LGBTQ+ Transgender: A person who defines as the opposite gender as the one they were born with. Hasn't gotten medical treatment to physically change their gender. Transphobe: A person who hates transgender people Transsexual: A person who has gotten medical treatment to change their physicality, in order to match their gender identity (NOTE - this term is generally seen as outdated) Xenogender: A gender that exists outside of the binary male/female. It's important to note that not all trans people (myself included) accept xenogenders as "real" trans people, because they don't have scientific backing. Queer: Anyone in LGBTQ+ Questioning: The act of questioning one's sexual orientation(s) or gender. --FACTS/NOTES/TIPS-- - Never assume gender, it could be very hurtful. - Romantic and sexual attraction are different for some people, but if you feel both in a particular way, you're normally just called 'straight' or 'bi' or 'gay'. - most kids don't feel sexual attraction because... yeah - Try not to say 'boys and girls' or 'ladies and gents' or anything- try saying 'humans' or 'people' or 'guys, gals, and non-binary pals!' - Don't feel the need to label yourself.
