After a bit, Fruit the bat flew by “Snow? What's wrong?” He asked curiously than saw her face. “A white claw!” she yelled. Fruit laughed “Your imagination!” Fruit grabbed her paw and tried to pull her out, only achieving about two centimeters. She shook her head but then sat up and walked out, “See, Snow, it’s just you dreaming, come on! I'll show you!” Fruit said with confidence and then flew into the thicket. Snow Pup crept in, seeing all her fur was gone. “See? It's just-” just then a high scream echoed through. ”I was wrong! I was wrong! I was wrong! Snow Pup shook her head and explained what happened during the day. She explained the monster, Fruit trying to show her that it didn't exist, all the way until it stared at her. Her mother's eyes, which were calm and warm, looked glazed and unresponsive. She looked again and said, “Mommy will not be here for the night, ok?” She didn't answer, but she walked out of the trunk as an aimless pup watched her mother walk away from her. The night seemed colder than normal. As she looked out, her mother’s former white coat was now darkened by the night, walking into the thicket, right into the dark. Snow Pup looked watched as her mother's shape disappeared and then sat down and looked nibbling at it. She looked again and then sighed The storm has begun
