stuff i work on when im sad Siblu is a gryfon of the Askeu Isles in the Great Scatter. Her species was once a great empire, each gryfon holding a little piece of magic they used to protect the land. There was peace, but of course, that had to end. And it did, with a gryfon named Jeuni. You see, Jeuni was of the Earth element, the most looked down upon. Gryfons should be creatures of the sky, but Earth gryfons seemed to prefer land, tending to their flowers and animals. Jeuni, however, despised this. He wanted to fly with the others, and do beautiful aerial loops like the Wind gryfons. He wanted to study Pyrology, the most respected science one could know. Uemanah, he’d even settle for the ability to swim! The Cave Stone and its guardian, a dual elemented gryfon named Yuiki, saw Jeuni as a threat. And so Yuiki ordered for his assassination, which failed terribly. If you were to go searching for Jeuni, on that night of all nights, you would only see shard spires of rock impaling three lifeless gryons. Jeuni was angry with Yuiki, who was supposed to bring peace. He was so angry, that in the cover of night he did the unthinkable: Shatter the Cave Stone. This was bad. You can probably see the most obvious reasons, such as the loss of Earth Magic. However, that too had effects. You see, the four elements depended on each other. Without Earth Magic, the gryfon realm was basically a table missing a leg. And eventually it fell over. Jeuni used the very last of his magic to cause a magnificent earthquake. It was so powerful that it split the lands, into the eight isles: Askeu, the Volcanic Lands (previously half of Fire gryfon territory. It is covered in active and inactive volcanoes and ash. Gryfons here practice the use of fire, as well as metalworking.) Ereui, the Rich Lands (previously the other half of Fire gryfon territory. Basically steppes. There are small forests with much prey, and many towns.) Kirol, the Ice Lands (previously the northern wasteland, was populated by wind gryfons when their territory was taken by the Winged Serpents. Many fir trees and small towns.) Dreni, the Flat Lands (previously all of Wind gryfon territory, half-populated by Winged Serpents. Bamboo forests and many creeks.) Poila, the Forest Lands (previously half of Earth gryfon territory. Deep forests with tall trees and many places to make dens. No towns, but groups of gryfons called Iorui travel around, taking as much care of the land as possible.) Tnuri, the Garden (previously other half of Earth gryfon territory. Little forests with hundreds of flowers that sprouted at the death of the first Earth gryfon, Rakitel.) Ibul, the Long Coasts (previously nonexistent, Water gryfons lived in the lakes and rivers of the old continent. Most Water gryfons live alone in caves.) Nureu, the Abyssal Deep (previously nonexistent, a trench made by the shifting of tectonic plates during the Shatter. Most Water gryfons live here.)
