This is an original poem I entered in a competition September 2019. I figured it could be cool to post it on scratch, and I really just added the blockshading to make it more interesting. If going through the project takes too long, or you are on a mobile device and can't press space, here is the poem: The Lake The sun sinks in the evening sky, And a touch of rose and scarlet seeps though me, The blending of brushstrokes in a watercolour painting. The horizon glows - the last hints of day are disappearing from view. In the murky weed and silt of my depths Fish glide through the dark water, dancing as Swallows dart through the dusky blue, Shimmering like mother-of-pearl hidden within seashells. In the day, boats will swarm across my surface As insects swarm in the summertime Sails will cover the clouds, and paddles will glint In the air as minnows glint in the reeds along my shore. Now, the sky sparkles with stars No insects occupy the air, And no vessels scud across my mirrored face. In a way, I am sleeping - calm, quiescent, resting, Until the touch of dawn Before the sunrise.
