Oof I’m going to do some creative writing here: The sound of barking became closer and closer. I ran as fast as my legs could take me. “There must be some way to shake off these dogs,” I thought. Up ahead, a tall tree stood in the distance. “Perfect!” Bunching up my muscles, I sprang, gripping the bark in my claws. I climbed until there was no place to climb left. The dumb dogs jumped up, but they couldn’t reach me from where I was sitting. “Ha!” I sneered to the barking dogs below. They retreated back to their Twolegs, growling their defeat. As I tried to hop down to the next branch, my paw slipped, and I tumbled to the ground. I tried to grab the branch, but it was no use. I heard water below me, and I figured that only made matters worse. Cold water gripped my fur and the strong current threw me in every direction. I kicked blindly, trying to grab anything that could lead me to the surface. Another current pulled me backward, slamming me against a rock. Pain seared through my head, and the world faded to black. ************ My eyes flickered open. I was in an unfamiliar den. “How did I get here?” I asked out loud. My head hurt, and my leg was wrapped in herbs that smelled bitter. I had know idea why I was here, or how I got these injuries. A cream she-cat stepped into the den. “Aw, I see you’re awake,” she purred softly, “We found you in the river, you were injured very badly.” “How did I get in the river?” I asked the she-cat. “We have no idea.” “Who are ‘they’?” “You’ll find out soon enough.” She pushed someone black seeds toward me. “Eat these.” I eyed her suspiciously. “How do I know you’re not going to poison me?” I questioned. She smiled. “I’m a medicine cat,” she replied, “Why would I want to poison you.” I eyed her again before eating the black seeds. I suddenly felt very sleepy. The she-cat started to move to the exit. “Rest, you had enough excitement for one day.” was the last thing I heard before drifting to sleep.
