Rules 1-25: 1. Nobody can create Mapclose project 1 except miniepicness and his alt accounts. - penalty for breaking rule 1: your project is skipped 2. Mapclose does not affect the original letternations - they are separate things. Whatever happens in Mapclose stays in Mapclose and whatever happens in Letternations stays in Letternations. They are separate collaborations, just with the same backstory. - this rule is just information so you don't get a penalty for breaking it 3. Every nation in mapclose starts off at war with every other nation. You can make peace and eventually ally though. - penalty for breaking this rule: your rulebreaking is reverted 4. Each letternation has a small bit of safe land nobody can conquer. (Empires count as a single letternation, and so do republics and genghises.) Do NOT invade safeland. (safeland surrounded in black outline) - penalty for breaking this rule: the safeland you invaded is given back to its rightful owner 5. No renaming your nation: it should only be one letter or number long. - penalty for breaking this rule: your rulebreaking is reverted 6. You can say Psi instead of Ψ when referring to the nation that's fine - there is no penalty for breaking rule 6 7. don't find massive islands too fast - penalty for breaking this rule: your rulebreaking is undone 8. don't claim land too fast - penalty for breaking this rule: your rulebreaking is undone 9. don't break too many rules in one project - penalty for breaking this rule: your project might be skipped 10. don't make any new nations - penalty for breaking this rule: your rulebreaking is undone 11. your peers (both allies, enemies, and neutrals) will grade if you broke the rules or not. you can debate whether your project is fair to the rules or unfair. - your fellow mapclose members are allowed to give you the penalty for what rules you broke. - they are not allowed to skip your project though, unless they have proof you broke the rules and deserve it. 12. If miniepicness decides you broke the rules, it is final, because he's the guy who wrote them. 13. no controlling animals or aliens or natural disasters - penalty for breaking this rule: your rulebreaking is undone 14. do not undo penalties put upon your nation for breaking rules. - penalty for breaking this rule: your reverts are undone. - penalty for breaking this rule too many times: your project is skipped 15. the ONLY official rules are at 16. do not edit the instructions - penalty for breaking this rule: your rulebreaking is undone 17. do not change your safeland's size or shape - penalty for breaking this rule: your rulebreaking is undone 18. you cannot claim land on other islands without bordering a body of water connecting the two places 19. Invade slowly, not all at once, so people can "run" from the invasion - just obey this rule please. if you don't, penalty for disobeying this rule is: your invasion gets reduced to a really small invasion. 20. Running from invasions 20a: if somebody invades you, you can invade anybody adjacent to you. these invasions are "runclaims" 20b: You can turn part of a runclaim into a territory claim, as long as it doesn't claim over land you aren't at war with. 20c: you can sail bodies of water from runclaim shores 20d: if you claim over another nation with a runclaim, they can still build whatever they want on their land, even if you ran over it. 20e: runclaims are shown as outlines, colored the same color as the nation who owns it. 20f: runclaims cannot claim over safeland 20g: you can't runclaim somewhere that you don't border or your runclaim doesn't border. no teleporting runclaims lol Use this project as an example of runclaiming: penalty for disobeying any part of this rule: your rulebreaking is undone 21. Do not invade without being at war with the person you are invading 21a: a runclaim does not count as a normal claim because it doesn't get rid of the claim under it. - penalty: your illegal invasion is undone 22: you can't invade a place you don't border. but, if you border a body of water that borders somewhere else, you can invade it. Place here means region, not nation. It doesn't matter if you border a different part of the nation, you can't invade it in someplace you don't border. 22a: you can turn a runclaim into a claim on top of a warring place you dont border, as long as the runclaim got there fairly and not by teleporting. - penalty for breaking: your invasion is undone 23: no spaceships or aircraft - penalty for breaking: your rulebeaking is undone 24: no making peace or allying someone without their approval - penalty: undo rulebreaking 25: Borders are from sky level to the center of the earth.
Rules 26-???: 26. Runclaims last up to 4 metaturns. The first metaturn is the turn where the runclaim is made. The runclaim has to be deleted by the end of the 4th metaturn. - A metaturn is where one person remixes. For example, if E remixed once, and then E remixed again later, E is at 2 metaturns. 27. You can only have 2 slides each turn 28. Don't edit anything other than backdrops. "Stage" does not count as a backdrop. 29. Don't delete backdrops 30. Don't time travel 31. don't convert backdrops to bitmap 32. If somebody claims a remix, wait for them to remix. If they take too long, ask them if they started remixing or not. If they take more than 2 days and haven't even started remixing yet, somebody else can claim. 33: Announcements count as rules. Normal members can only make Turn slides. Miniepicness can make any type of slide. 34: You can break a rule if basically everyone's fine with it. 35: If miniepicness or his many accounts tell you that you can break a rule, you can. - this means miniepicness can break rules. but hey, don't let him be OP. 36: Runclaims don't stack. 37: You can runclaim unclaimed land. 38. You can only runclaim off of the territory region you got the runclaim from. 39. Runclaims can't claim water 40. Your power is measured in how much land you own 41. You can travel through allied territories that you border 42. Don't edit the terrain. 43. NO BOMBS OK
