Recently I've seen people rallying against some of Scratch's unnecessary guidelines, or things that are being ignored. I've never had a problem with the ST or Scratch but I've seen things happen to people on Scratch, like art theft. Being a beginner artist, this worries me A LOT. Art theft IS theft and can be illegal to some extent. The meaning of theft means, in my opinion, means to take something that isn't yours and claim it as your own. Art thieves are often younger people who don't understand what their doing wrong and would happily take something down if you asked them. Sometimes though, art thieves are people who intentionally steal your art and say it's there's just to hurt you, this tends to be an older audience. ST is NOT doing enough about this and it needs to be brought to their attention, I am not going around and pointing fingers or something like that. I don't believe that they are intentionally trying to promote art theft or that they believe they are doing anything wrong. The truth is Scratch was really intended to be a coding platform where people could share their ideas and the guidelines and rules are catered toward that. Soon enough though, an art community started popping up, inspiring older and younger people, this is awesome! But the guidelines did not adjust to this and there needs to be boundaries between fair use and theft. This is not meant to offend anyone and if you are offended please tell me and I can reword anything I said and delete the comment if you want. I know there are many other flaws that need to be fixed but everyone has to improve one step at a time, even Scratch. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please no rude hurtful or offensive comments bit I would still love to hear your opinion on this topic in a civilized way. <3 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #ST
