Hi everyone! This is my entry for @Warriorcats4life's DTA, specifically "Little Red Hooded Tabby". I hope that this is all right. Good luck to anyone who is entering for any of the designs in the DTA! :3 Please press space to see the original design by @Warriorcats4life9 - B I O - Name: Merle Nickname: Ica (from Icarus) - his parents nicknamed him that because of his moulting feathers, but he tells his friends that it's because he's a bit of an over-achiever and when he falls, he plummets. Gender: Male Age: Around 15 cat years old. Personality: Shy, timid, kind, a bit emotionless at times. Backstory: In the city where Merle lives, cats born with wings and/or powers are basically treated like trash and are forced to leave. His parents have to hide their wings whenever they are outside of their house, which is the reason why they often wear baggy clothes over their pelts, such as hoodies. Merle has to do the same at his school, always wearing a slightly oversized hoodie to hide his growing wings. It's painful at times, due to the size of the wings. He was always careful not to show his wings in public, but his feathers kept on falling out a bit - he blamed it on a messy pet canary. While at school, he developed a crush on another girl at school - Minnow, a silver tabby she-cat with strange, colour-changing eyes. They became close friends and fell in love, but one time Minnow pestered him about why he always wears a hoodie and an argument broke out. In his rage, Merle accidentally reared his wings, ripping huge gashes in his hoodie and exposing them for the world to see. Minnow was aghast and, after a moment of shock, she went completely hostile and tried to attack him, bruising his face a bit. She then ran back to her home in tears. Merle watched her go, tears welling up in his eyes. He needed to get away from it all, to start a new life where he could live in peace. He wrote a quick letter to his parents, saying goodbye to them, then went up to the balcony. He had never flown before, and as dusk gathered, he spread his young wings for the first time, gathering speed as he distanced himself from the lonely apartment. He looked back only once, staring through the rapidly-darkening air at his house, as a few golden feathers spiralled down onto the street. Original text: *:･ﾟ✧ Happy New Year!
