''ok, i guess it's tideclan's turn,'' said lobsterstar ''prey is swimming we-'' he was cut off as one of the stars came falling from the sky, landing near springpaw, a mudclan apprentice, shadepaw, and sealpaw, two tideclan cats. the star landed in a broken heap on the gathering ground. shadepaw went closer to have a sniff, ''this isnt a star,'' he wispered to the apprentices sitting next to her. strange creatures started crawling out of the strange item. they looked weak and battered. ''get back to our territories, now!'' said dawnstar, as she began climbing down the earthtree. back at her nest, springpaw wondered about the thing that had fallen from the sky and the creatures that came out of it. the strange creatures had no tails, a bit of fur on their heads and only walked on two legs. the only way she could find out what those things were was if she investigated. springpaw found it easy to slip out of camp, as she was one of three apprentices in the clan and the only cat guarding the entrance was half asleep. she crept towards the earthtree, expecting to be alone but on the other side was shadepaw and sealpaw, sniffing around the thing. it was empty now, the strange creatures had left but at the back of the thing there was a quiet plea for help. there was a gap, just big enough to fit the 3 apprentices through. ''help me! im stuck in this cage!'' a cat at the back of the little space called. ''hello?'' said springpaw as an orange-red she-cat came into view, behind a strong cobweb-like thing. ''w-who are you?'' asked sealpaw, frightened by the thing that had crashed ''im frosty, please help me out, ill explain when you get me out. frosty had shown the cats how to use their claws to open the cobweb-like wall, ''thank you so much'' panted frosty as she climbed out, ''who are you?'' she then asked as she caught her panicked breath ''im springpaw, this is shadepaw and sealpaw,'' explained springpaw to the frightened she-cat. ''i suppose you want an explination,'' asked frosty as the four cats settled under the earthtree. ''that thing i was trapped in if called a cage, the thing youused your claws to get me out of. that giant thing is a plane. notails use it to get to other places.'' ''wait, what are notails?'' asked shadepaw ''notails are creatures with little fur, two legs and no tails. they like to take care of housecats like me. i live with two of them.'' frosty continued. ''now that i told you all i know, you tell me about yourselves'' the 3 apprentices told her about clans and how they work, about how there are leaders, deputies, warriors and other ranks in each clan, about the spirits and the warrior code, how they hunt their own prey and how they gather each full moon to share news. finaly they came to an end. springpaw hunted a mouse for frosty to eat and the clan cats started heading back for their territories, sealpaw turned back to frosty, fanily finding his voice, ''hey frosty, you can stay here until next moon where we will introduce you to the cats. we can hunt for you and get you different foods but you must remember to stay hidden, dont let yourself be seen''
what is happening- at the gathering there was a plane crash. this was the cat's first interaction with humans [later called notails] springpaw, shadepaw and sealpaw find a cat called frosty trapped in her cage in the pets section of the plane. she explains what notails are and what a plane is.
