A fun little project I decided to do. What you see here is my version of anglicized (made english) Hylian, from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The original Hylian in the game can be translated, but it requires translation into Japanese first, and then into English. The problem is, Wind Waker's Hylian, unlike Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess, is based on Japanese, so there are for more letters (see the original chart inside). There are more letters because it is phonetic, rather than alphabetic. So in the process of assigning Hylian characters to the latin alphabet, I started with taking the sounds already used in the phonetic Japanese (such A, E, ru, ka, etc) and then for the rest I used a combination of what a sound translates into in Japanese (Link's name in Japan is Rinku for instance) and then what sounds seemed to fit best, and then just what characters looked cool. As I hoped, writing out with the letters looks very nice indeed.
