The 1998 Brandt Scoppio- a small Italian hatchback with it's own unique flair. The only engines available for this model were an 850cc, 1.1 (and 1.3 engine for the sculleria. They sold well, just like their rival the Fiat Punto mk1 and 2. They had bad safety ratings however, and were more expensive than others to insure. They also had mechanical issues from day one. Other than that, they were a very capable small car, with the 1.1 and 1.3 engines being rather nippy (being a lightweight car). Some say the styling was old fashioned - Brandt preferred to call it 'retro'. press space
