This simulator is meant to simulate a shiny hunt, but faster for those who want to experience shiny hunting, but don't have the patience. On Mobile, you have to repeatedly tap the button. On PC, you can tap the button, press the space bar, or hold the space bar. You can toggle the Shiny Charm in any hunting method where it's available. Pokemon and icon vary between methods. Press B to enable to Hunt Bot. Unlucky means you would've had more shinies if you just got one for each multiple of the denominator of the odds. For example, if you've done the Pre-Gen 6 method and have done over 8196 encounters, you'll be considered unlucky. Shiny Charm multiplies your odds by 3, for example having 3/8192 instead of 1/8192. It doesn't work with Pokemon GO, which doesn't have Shiny Charm, nor Gen 4 Masuda Method because the Shiny Charm was introduced in Generation 5.
