song: allergic by post malone the main important thing for understanding this pmv is that blue text is from pearl's pov, and pink text is from pink diamond's pov - - - - - woah this was rushed and kind of meh but for my first time ever drawing cannon gems i guess it turned out alright. anyway if you're pro-pink than i suggest either not watching this or not raging in the comments. also don't read this section below this one unless you're okay with people having differing opinions than you because it's quite anti-pink lol - - - - - this pmv mainly focuses on the relationship between pink diamond and pearl, and how it could be compared to an absuive or unhealthy relationship. i used to ship these two until i thought about it and realised how toxic their relationship was. pearl idolized pink, holding her as a god among gems if you will, and you may say 'it's because she was pink's pearl', but pink relinquished control over pearl after her foux-shattering. secondly, pink creates and destroys relationships with little to no care or concern about how that impacts the other side of the relationship, and this impacted pearl in a particularly devastating way. pearl was so close to pink that when pink just suddenly turned into steven, she was absolutely devastated at first. pink was her closest friend, she regarded her so highly, and her leaving simply broke pearl. but unlike pink, who leaft steven and the crystal gems to clean up the mess she made, pearl moved past her devastation and picked herself up, learning to move on and becoming stronger. this pmv is just about the manipulative realationship between pink and pearl, but really it could be applied to any gem. if you'd like a frama by frame analysis, i'dbe happy to give you one haha
