~How to Play (If you've never played SimCity before, PLEASE READ /!\)~ -=-The goal of SimCity is to see how large you can build your city. -=-Use your mouse to navigate through trays of buildings, but don't spend too much or you might go bankrupt! -=-Press x to exit your task (exit building before you click on any buttons!) -=-You will need to build hospitals and sewage plants and such buildings to keep your sims happy. Though they may decrease your profits, in the end, it's worth it. If your happiness is too low, sims will leave your city and you may have to start over if your sims get too unhappy! -=-Don't be afraid to delete buildings (the delete button is next to the roads, and it depicts a pile of rubble). When you delete a building, you will not get your money back, but other statistics will revert back to how they were before you bought the building. -=-If anything messes up (layering, building position, number positions) just press the re-render button in the bottom corner. It will most likely fix your issues. -=-Press S to turn on sandbox mode -=-Press S to turn off sandbox mode -=-Have fun! ~NOTICE~ -=-I understand that there are a lot of issues with layering. No worries, though, if you hit the button in the bottom left hand corner with the three towers, the game gets re-rendered and layering works better. -=-Much of this game is working with stamping, which reduces lag but can also limit playability. The script for placing one building alone has taken me months to develop. I'm always open to criticism, but please know that due to clone lag, there's only so much I can do. Stamping is a challenging method to work with and requires a LOT of variables and VERY long lists. -=-I coded save codes, but there is so much data collected in this game that any save code would be at least two hundred and fifty characters long! Due to the size of them, I decided against save codes and instead added OmegaCo and Great Works. -=-I understand there are glitches, but many of them are either unavoidable or would take months longer to fix. And I don't really want to spend several more months working on this, as I've spent quite a while on it already. I'll have updates here and there, but probably nothing game-changing. -=-One last note, I'd appreciate a love, favorite, or follow :)
-=-Thank you to SIMCITY for the idea, the menu, and so much inspiration! Also, a special thank-you to SIMCITY: CITIES OF TOMORROW for The Academy, ControlNet, and OmegaCo. -=-All art except for the pickle and menu (and loading screen too, I guess) done by me. -=-All programming done by me -=-Thanks to clker.com for the pickle on the statue -=-All of the building descriptions are solely for comedy. None of them are meant to be taken seriously, and if you find something offensive, PLEASE NOTIFY ME AND I WILL GET RID OF IT. Please do this before you decide to report this :) -=-Before I made this, I checked out some of the other city simulators on Scratch, particularly City World by @macio6! His simulator is smoother (my favorite city simulator on Scratch, no offense to anyone), so I tried to model mine after SimCity: Cities of Tomorrow, emphasizing building up and customizing. I hope you enjoy! -=-Sound effects from: http://www.freesfx.co.uk/ (thank you to @macio6 for providing them) ~Fun Facts~ -=-There are over sixty different buildings in this game -=-This is my first time actually utilizing pen stamping -=-This is made with over 10000 blocks, over 8000 of which are in two sprites. -=-The script for placing one building took over a month to develop (I actually discovered the algorithm accidentally, then kept tweaking it). Even after working with it for months, I'm still not sure how I stumbled across it (even though I designed it, I'm still scratching my head over how it works) ~Updates~ May 11, 2020, v1.0.0- Original release date! Finally! May 21, 2020, v1.0.1- Fixed a menu bug for different screen sizes. June 22, 2020, v1.0.2- Fixed another menu bug and updated descriptions. #simcity #games #-opportunity- #city #simulator #sims #macio6 #stamp #pen #fire #police #health #memes
