Press N for the next slide. Press B (or the green flag) to see the original bitmap image. Press V to see the vector sprites. Press Space to change the background. Press E to see the extra sprites. Feel free to use these vector sprites, just please give credit.
I'm going to use these sprites for a future project called "Dig Dug Vector", the Dig Dug Scratch Game using vector sprites. I can't wait! So, here's how I made these vector sprites. 1. I grabbed a Dig Dug sprite sheet from The Spriters Resource, and I only got the sprites I needed and removed the extra sprites. Now I have my sprite sheet (press b). 2. Now, I had to vectorize the image. I couldn't do the whole sprite sheet all in 1 go, it would appear as a monochrome image. I didn't want that. So I had to create 3 layers for the image, each layer representing one palette for each sprite. I had to make the layers monochrome to prevent inaccuracy. Then I vectorized each layer, and of course, it appeared monochrome. So I colored each layer so it matches with the original sprites (press n to scroll through the layers). 3 Then I stacked each layer on top of each other forming the characters (press n on the slide of the 3rd layer). I noticed that the characters didn't look completely accurate, so I made some final edits and voila! There are my vector Dig Dug sprites! Credits belong to Namco for designing Dig Dug sprites, Superjustinbros on The Spriters Resource for ripping sprites, and (I think) convertio.co for vectorizing images.
