Here are the steps in order: 1) Basic sketch of person + cat 2) Background sketch + redoing the cat 3) Lineart 4) Painting the tree and shrubs in the background + base colors for the ledge and furniture 5) Blurring the greenery 6) Filling in the background more 7) Adding a sky and more detail 8) Base colors for the person + cat 9) Basic shading on cat + backpack 10) Basic skin and pants shading 11) More pants shading 12) Shading on robe edges 13) Beginning more shading on the blue part of the robe + boots 14) Even more robe shading... 16) Beginning hair shading with shadows 17) Finished hair shading + light and more tones 18) Eyes (was too lazy to make more than one step for this) 19) Finished product! I have close to absolute zero experience drawing cats, so this was an experiment. Trying to save the background took a long time because of all the blurred effects and the paint, so I chose not to have it visible during the coloring on the person/cat/backpack.
