character: olive/olivetail gender: female story: olive was born to an ex-kittypet, named ms.fancy. ms.fancy had once lived with a twoleg on the borders of a group called rowanclan. the kittypet meet a warrior named mudface. mudface was the deputy of rowanclan, and was extremely respected by his clanmates. the thing that sets rowanclan apart from the other clans is that 1. the way they choose their next leader is the eldest current leaders kit. 2. they live in a highly secluded area meaning they are the only cats around. the thing that makes the leaders kits different is all of them have two black stripes on their muzzle. mudface began going to see ms.fancy who called herself honey because she was embarrassed by her name. eventually ms.fancy was expecting kits, and ran off leaving behind her twoleg, and mudface. ms.fancy had only one kit, and named her olive because of the olive tree that could be seen from their nest. one day when olive was about 5 months old ms.fancy decided to take olive back to the clan. ms.fancy told olive they were going to go visit someone very important, and they set off. toward the end of the journey ms.fancy was crossing a thunderpath, with olive. a monster appeared, moving at godly speed, and just narrowly missed olive, but struck ms.fancy full force. olive dragged her mothers body to the other side, and covered it in flowers, before continuing on. olive didn't know how to hunt for herself so she slowly starved, and as she was on the brink of death, a cat appeared, and carried her to his clans camp. when olive awoke she found herself in a den that smelled strongly of herbs. she looked around, and saw a mouse sitting in front of her. olive scarfed down her mouse, and then saw a ginger cat with white splotches on his back approaching. olive let out a hiss, and tried to stand but she was still to weak. the tom gave her a sympathetic look, and told her his name, which was reedpaw. olive reluctantly told him her name. reedpaw asked her about where shed come from and why she looked like she hadn't eaten in days. olive told him that she lived with her mother, and was going someplace important but she doesn't know where. reedpaw suggested that she should stay in rowanclan till she got better, and olive agreed. towards sunset reedpaw left the den, and olive was left alone in the dark, strongly smelling nest. the next day she found that she was able to walk again even if she was a little sore. olive walked out into the camp clearing, and saw something she couldn't believe a cat who looked almost identical to her except that cat had long shaggy fur, and had spots instead of stripes. olive stared in disbelief, and quickly turned to look somewhere else when she saw the cat had faced her. towards sunhigh another cat emerged from a large rock cave, olive could't believe her eyes this cat looked even more like her, disregarding the fact this was a very old tom cat. the cat caught a glimpse of her, and took a step back obviously surprised to see a cat that looked like a younger clone. reedpaw jumped out of a bush den, and ran up, and whispered into the old toms ear. the old tom looked down at olive with a glare, after a few seconds a forced smile spread across his face, and he let out a deafening yowl, that caused around 20 cats to emerge from dens, and gather around. olive looked around wildly , and then the old tom introduced himself as mudstar, and he offered olive a spot in there clan, only if she changed her name to olivepaw. olive accepts not seeing any harm in that, and she is given a mentor named mothfield. olive is very excited that she can finally learn to hunt. mothfield shows olive the territory and teaches olive a basic hunting crouch. then mothfield never tells her anything else he mostly ignores olive, and only takes her out when hes asked to do so. eventually olive is tired of the treatment and starts going out by herself to practice. one day while olive is hunting she hears a rustle from behind her, but isn't able to identify the smell. thinking it was a cleverly disguised rabbit olive turns to chase it, but is instead attacked. because rowanclan is so far from away from everything, the cats of the clan aren't taught to fight so olive is already at a huge disadvantage. the cat claws at her throat, and olive accepts she is going to die, until she accidentally hits the cat on the left side of his face, and the cat jumps back in pain. now that the cat is off of her she is able to see its a tom no older than 9 moons, with a slashed face that left him blind in the left eye. olive realizes that now she knows his weakness and starts aiming attacks at the cats left eye. the tom finally realizes whats happening, and moves his head out of the way before olive is able to land a hit. the cat leaps on olive, and snarls at her. olive goes limp under him, and he gives her a triumphant smile.
olive looks up at the tom, feeling warm blood coming from where the tom's claws held her. she yells at the tom to let her go, and the tom takes only one paw off. he growls at olive asking if she knows who he is, olive says no, and he tells her that his name is slashstar. olive hisses his name, than tells him hers. slashstar gets off of olive and with one final look at her he dissipated into the forest. (gonna summarize here since the story is so long olive runs into slashstar a few more times, and soon becomes friends with him, then mates. reedpaw, and olivepaw get warrior names reedwhisper, and olivetail, the she-cat who looks like olive is named minnow, and her warrior name is minnowpelt. eventually olive finds out that mudstar is her father, and is extremely angry that her mother would hide that from her, and that mudstar hated her so much. in the end olive kills her half-sister minnowpelt thanks to slashstar pushing her. reedwhisper finds olive standing over minnows body, and runs away not telling anyone because he cared about his friend to much. olive also runs away, and goes to live with slashstar. slashstar takes her back to his clan birchclan where his mate pebblestream sees him and olive, and has slashstar driven out. hating olive for taking the tom she loved she tricks olive into staying in camp with her, and gives her a shrew filled with yew berries. olive eats it, and dies in the middle of birchclans camp. olive isn't giving a proper grave and is left o the grass for maggots to eat. slashstar having no place to go arrives at rowanclan, and reedwhisper recognizes him as the cat that caused his best friends death, and the loss of the cat he loved (olive) reedwhisper, and slashstar have a long, and grueling battle. after slashstar is extremely tired out reed jumps at him, and bites his throat killing, slashstar, and sending him to the dark forest. reedwhisper, horribly wounded crawls back to camp, and collapses outside the leaders den. he heals after a few weeks in the medicne cat den. and spends the rest of his life protecting rowanclan before peacefully dying in his sleep as an elder. oof sorry its so long lol
