You have 6 horses, a track of ten squares and a finish post. You also have two dice sprites, each has six colour costumes (sides) that correspond to the colour of a horse sprite. You click a Dice Roll button to make the two dice 'roll'. A 'roll' can move two horses 1 square each, or if both dice show the same colour-face the horse moves two squares. The cat with the hat calls the horses to start the race to the finish.
If you would like a black-and-white printable PDF based on the game, go to the Files section of the Ready Steady Code -Scratch For Your Kids Facebook Group. There you can also download a 2-page worksheet on the 6-Horse Race. Children can complete assignments on Number Patterns and the possible and probable outcomes of rolling (clicking) two dice.
