RESHARE Original share date: Apr 20 2020 INTRODUCTION -------------------------------------------------------------------------As a Hong Konger, there are a lot of things I know that Hong Kong is famous for. I will introduce a few because of cultural exchange and that stuff. Feel free to share whatever you like in the comments below! 奶茶 (MILK TEA): Milk with tea. Simple but delicious. Before you think of those boba teas, they are not the same. Boba tea has a lot of sugar while you can usually choose how many sugar you want in your milk tea. You can find this everywhere, from restaurants to street food stalls. Western alter-ego: Boba tea 羅拔臣啫喱粉 (ROBERTSONS JELLY POWDER): Literally everyone born in Hong Kong will have eaten Robertsons jelly at one point. No kidding. This is kind of like Jello I guess, but I prefer this. You can find this in almost every supermarket in Hong Kong. Western alter-ego: Jell-O 麻雀牌 (MAHJONG TILE): A tile from a game called Mahjong. Older relatives usually play this game together during family gatherings. Western alter-ego: Any card game you can think of 魚蛋 (FISH BALLS): A classic Hong Kong street food. Usually served on a skewer. Fish balls made from deep-water fish have a mild taste and are also tender. Curry is often paired with fish balls. If you are planning to go to Hong Kong, you must try the curry fish balls. Western alter-ego: Meatballs 中華白海豚 (CHINESE WHITE DOLPHIN): Don't let the name deceive you, the Chinese White Dolphin is pink! It is also endangered, so #SaveTheChineseWhiteDolphins Western alter-ego: Common Dolphin 路標 (ROAD SIGN): Ahh, I love the road signs in Hong Kong. They are everywhere, yet I never get bored of them. I could stare at them for hours. Western alter-ego: None 陰陽 (Yin and Yang): A symbol used in Chinese philosophy. Not really related to Hong Kong but I drew it anyway. There are currently 7 sprites. More will be added soon! I know that absolutely no one will use this because everything is just super ugly, but still, I had a lot of time on my hands.
