Once upon a time, at the start of Mario's adventures. A goomba in 1-1, saw a man in red running towards him. at first the goomba was not worried, but the red man's speed kept increasing. Finally the goomba was able to see who the red man really was. It was Bowser's blood enemy, Mario! the goomba fled the area in fear. He found a pipe that led underground and jumped in it. This is what transformed him into Goob Ma. This is also what led Mario to discover the iconic underground level, 1-2. Today, Goob Ma is still on the run from Mario. He struggles to live with himself everyday, because he knows he is destined to live in fear for all of eternity, unless he turns back to face his fear, Mario.
