READ BELOW FOR THE CONTEST ENTRY The creature that wrote this poem follows the wind and counts the stars before falling into sleep. It calls to the beasts of the world, and one night, you might hear a nightingale call back, letting the thing know it is not alone. I wait for the day when trouble will be beaten out of this world and banished into an oblivion, when the sun will finally rise and shine with pride. The ideas flashing through this head of mine come and go as they please. And when I look down at m paper filled with words, I wish that I could go on. That my pen with no ink would be replaced with a bran new. Like rain washing dirt off of a sidewalk, so it can start fresh. But, like a sidewalk, I feel trampled, and unclean. The heavy boots of people bashing me to pieces. I wish I could tell the right from the wrong. That this eager voice inside my weak mind would dissolve into nothing. Or at least know one person I can lean on when my wall falls down from the enemies pushing it. These wings of mine are bruised and bloodied from the many battles with the sky. Mine eyes are clouded with stress and worry. The colors of the rainbow are tinted black and grey. The flag of achievement stands on the next hill, but when I climb to the top, I find it was really on the hill behind it. When I try to fly, the hail beats down on me, forcing me under the Sea of Tears. The air in me is running out. I don't know if there is any hope left for me. But, alas, a small light still shines inside of me, pushing me to not give up. The light grows and for a moment, I close my eyes. But when I open them, I find myself on a hill, holding the flag of achievement. And I can finally get back onto my feet. ~Thistleheart17 Credits Cat Lineart - @MilihaDawn Song - "Legends Never Die" (female version) - League of Legends Poem - @Thistleheart17
