This is a DTA entry for @foxgurl200 's wonderful DTA: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/370139856/ I realized partway through making the meme that I should remix the DTA project, but the sprites wouldn't transfer :( I'm terribly sorry about that I ADORE this design. There I was, just clicking nonchalantly through Fox's designs, when all of a sudden I heard Cabinet Man and Pliocene as back-to-back songs!!!! I love Lemon Demon (my favorite song is either When He Died or Only House That's Not On Fire), and I've been listening to a lot of Cosmo Sheldrake recently, so that was really cool. Plus, the Pliocene design immediately caught my eye. The color balance and relatively simple but striking design immediately had me hooked. I doodled a headshot of this boi right then and there! The whole plant growth theme is right up my alley, and the rose/devil's tail is just the best. I really tried to preserve the essence of what Fox drew as much as possible. I rarely EVER enter DTAs, to be honest. I always feel like someone else would take better care of the design if they won it. This one was different, though: I couldn't pass up an opportunity to win this boi. I've gotten super attached! Sorry that it took me so long to make.... my parents kept getting upset at me for drawing too much, but I eventually finished everything. I would've done more if I had the time.
EDIT: I won him!! yasss Table of Contents: || Bio || Desc. of meme/art || Credits Name: Kevin Species: Dog Gender: Male Likes: Girls, flirting, botany, skull-shaped pots, geometry dash, his friends Dislikes: School, tests, exercise, cold + windy days, his cat allergy :"0 Bio: Kevin is a pretty nice guy, but nobody's perfect. He spends most of his time either griping about school or hitting on girls. He thinks he's really smooth, but to be honest, all of his pick up lines are too punny to ever be taken seriously. Kevin is sort of a hopeless romantic: he always has a crush on someone and never seems to learn from his mistakes. He had, like, one girlfriend in junior high, but that's it. Although he always complains about school, he'd be pretty lost without it, since it's one of the only times he sees his friends. Let's just say that Kevin isn't great at organizing get-togethers. Kevin's main problem is that he has anxiety. The smallest tasks or deadlines send him into a spiral of stress and crippling self-doubt that is giving him problems in school. Don't even get him started on test anxiety! Even though he qualifies for extra time, it's still difficult. It's almost ironic... he's so overconfident in his romantic overtures, but painfully under-confident in academics and projects. || Meme I really like 's original meme: you should check it out! All of the coding is theirs. I really enjoyed making this, and it was fun to play with the theme of plant growth paired with growing anxiety. It's sort of meant to line up with his underlying insecurities, if that makes any sense. Please go inside the project after and take a look at the individual frames! I spent a really long time on them, and it goes by so fast. All that wiggle frame tracing really killed my hand! || Extra art 1) Fullbody! I tried out a cell shading type thing here, and I'm not really sure if I like how it turned out. But here it is, I guess? Gotta love them lil red toe beans. I listened to Pliocene on repeat while I made this one. 2) Chibi Kevin be pullin' some moves! Watch yourself, ladies. I really like this one, probably because I used my normal style of shading. Plus, the pose turned out really well, even though I didn't use a reference! 3) This is the headshot that I drew the second I first saw the design. It looks a bit different than all the other drawings. For some reason, I was having a hard time keeping his looks constant... probably because I was having to cram my drawing time into the spaces that my parents allotted. My goal look is the thumnail drawing. 4) Lol this is what I made as the placeholder for the "extra art" thing as I was coding it || Music: Childhood by (idk) and The Sea by Joey Pecoraro || Coding: (and a lil bit from me) || Design: || Art:
