Visiting Tabetha Street a fictional story written by astrid --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- {disclaimer: this story is a work of fiction. any resemblance to a real person or place is purely coincidental} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eva stared blankly at the fire below her. The sun was just beginning to rise, making the flaming scene below her even more horrific. She glanced at Flynn, whose tears were reflecting the fire's crimson glow. Mrs Filbert was crying into Mr Filbert's shoulder, whose face looked ashen and pale. There was nothing any of them could do. Tabetha Street was gone. Forever. Flynn turned towards Eva, tears streaming down his face. "My home...is gone." he sobbed. Eva scooted closer, and he buried his face in Eva's shoulder. A rustle cause Eva to stand up suddenly. "Someone's here." She pulled a small dagger out from the heel of her boot. "Who's there? Show yourself, and don't get cocky! I have a weapon!" A small, tan hand came snaking around from behind a tree. "Please don't hurt me!" a voice squeaked. Mrs Filbert looked up suddenly. "Adelaide?" she questioned. A girl who looked about fifteen came running from behind the tree "Grandma!" she shouted, rushing into Mrs Filbert's arms. "I did exactly what you told me to do!" Adelaide exclaimed, hugging Mrs Filbert. The elderly woman put a finger to her lips and whispered "Not here." Eva slipped the dagger into her boot heel. "You have a granddaughter?" Mr Filbert opened his mouth to say something, but Mrs Filbert interjected quickly "Yes. This is our granddaughter Adelaide." Adelaide blushed and stepped forwards. She held out her hand "It's nice to meet you all." she stuttered. Eva shook her hand politely and smiled. "I'm sorry about your home." Adelaide rubbed the back of her neck self-consciously. "Well...I was just...visiting. You know. Relatives." Eva looked at her and grabbed Flynn's arm. "This is my...friend...Flynn." Flynn stood there for a moment. Adelaide stood in front of him, her long, beige hair blowing in the smokey breeze. She blushed furiously and shook his hand. Adelaide looked up at him and smiled. "You're...very handsome." she commented quietly. Flynn turned beet red and let go of her hand. "Um...thanks?" Mrs Filbert laughed wholeheartedly in the background. "You two lovebirds!" she giggled. Eva turned away from Flynn and crossed her arms. "What are we going to do now?" she asked, her back still to the crowd. "We should head for the mountains." Adelaide suggested. "I heard there used to be an old miner's town up there, before the big gold boom of Tabetha." Eva waved her hand, clearly uninterested, then turned around. "Great idea." she said monotonously, then gestured for everyone to start walking. Adelaide skipped ahead and chattered like a bird to Mrs Filbert, who was listening patiently. Eva lagged behind, hands in her pockets. Flynn slowed down and bumped her shoulder with hers. "What's wrong? You seem down. Was it Tabetha Street?" Eva glared at him "Why don't you go talk to your new girlfriend?" Flynn looked taken aback. His eyes softened, and he slipped his hand out of his pocket. "I don't like her." he sighed, and pulled Eva's hand out of her pocket. He held it gently and looked up at Eva "I like you" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- nobody asks me questions, why do i put this section? xD ew, more romance? yup will there be more? yup will there be kissing? no why is this chapter so boring? i am kinda down atm why are you making up random questions? bc i'm bored and miss sophia i keep wanting to type in finn instead of Flynn
