I used just plain pencil, colored pencil, and a red pen. Pencil for the outline, colored pencils for the overall colors, and the red pen for the mane. To be honest, I have no idea how I did this. I had a phoenix in mind when I first started it, but it turned into a dragon-like being with a beak.
