Episode 1 Script

READ NOTE AFTER INSTRUCTIONS Lines for each character are in the project. Please see inside and view notes on the backdrop for each character's lines.( Edit: Putting in more than one version of each line would be great, so that I can pick one that better matches the expressing of emotion I imagined) This episode we only use the following VA's; Foscor Razor Honeystar Maple Ash Spook Maples Mother (comment if interested in voice acting Maple's mother for this episode) Here is the script for those of you that prefer reading the whole thing and watching it be put together. Episode 1 [Starts with black screen, gentle voice starts to speak] Maple: This is the story of the darkness and the light. Our lives are forever at stake. May Starclan forever light our paths throughout this journey. Let us begin. [Warning Screen is shown, backdrop fades to reveal a dark blood-red tom (Razor) and a cream she-cat (Honeystar)] Razor *irritably, with a sharp tone, emphasize “Starclan”, “Stars”, and “stupid”*: You really think that Starclan is here for you? There are no STARS any longer! Surely you’re not that stupid. [Honeystar raises her head] Honeystar *with a strong voice*: I can only believe in their last prophecy, that only light can save us from you. Razor *threateningly* : Fool! I was actually considering letting you live, but I’ve changed my mind. [Honeystar is killed swiftly in a flash of claws. Her spirit glides slowly from her body and looks at Razor. Razor turns before being startled by a black shadow. The shadow forms eyes and speaks in a menacing tone.] Foscor *hissing*: If you trust, power will come. [Razor bows his head] Razor *respectfully*: Of course, sir. Foscor: I need you to do something for me. Razor: Anything. Foscor: There is one cat that can spoil my plans. They have the spirit of light in them. Find that cat and bring them to me. Razor: I will do my best. [Foscor looks up sharply and appears beside Razor’s ear.] Foscor: You will complete the task or you die. [Foscor laughs and disappears in the wind] Razor: Spook! [A muzzle appears from the shadows, pelt unknown] Spook: Yes, sir? Razor: You are my best hunter. Find this cat and bring them to me. Spook *grinning widely*: Would you like anything else? Razor: That is all. [You see a mouse scuttle towards the shadow, a paw thuds on it and you hear a painful squeak. The mouse is dragged towards the shadow where Spook is. Spook salutes Razor.] Spook: I enjoy serving the darkness. [Scene fades, switches to a flower meadow where two cats are playing happily. You hear giggling.] Maple *playfully* : Got you! Ash *whining*: Unfair! You cheated. Maple *tilting her head*: How? Ash *stuttering*: Y-y-you, uh, well... [Maple giggles, Ash rolls his eyes and sighs.] Ash: I give up! You’re way too good at hunting. [Maple shrugs.] Maple: We should start heading back. My mom must be worried sic-” [She looks up and her eyes form into slits. She stares in horror.] Maple: MOM! [Maple races towards the fields. The screen shows a gray cat falling suddenly.] Maple: Mom, mom… Mom! Are you okay? [Maple starts frantically licking the gray cat, a tear falls from her eye. When it touches the ground, it turns gold and the grass grows slightly.] Maple’s mother *sounding sickly, coughing between breaths*: Maple. Beware of the darkness. You are our only hope. Run. [The gray cat breathes out heavily, and Maple looks confused. Ash bounds over.] Ash: Hey! Slow down, won’t you? What’s going on? [He stops in pure terror when he sees Maple’s mother on the ground.] Ash: Wh-what happened? Maple shakes her head: I don’t know. She just told me to run. Ash: Let’s at least bury her first… Maple: It sounded urgent. I think I need to leave now. Ash *shaking violently*: I’m coming with you. Maple: What about your family? Ash: Mother will be fine. She never cared for me much anyways. Lets go! [Maple gives her mother a final lick, then gets up and walks slowly away with Ash. The screen pans out to reveal Foscor, standing beside the shadows. He looks down at Maple’s mother.] Foscor *insincerely*: Such a pity. [Foscor disappears again, and in the distance you see Ash and Maple walking into the woods towards the setting sun.]
