There, Esposito was asked to make them a pizza. He topped the pizza with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil. That pizza is still known as Pizza Margherita today. Some evidence shows that modern pizza was first made more than 2000 years ago when Roman soldiers added cheese and olive oil to matzah. (Wikipedia) No matter what, pizza is still one of the most loved dishes of many people.
