She is always ready to purr up a storm and constantly is surfing the waves in addition to flopping on the beach in her hammock. Though born with a special condition called crystal sands, or CS for short, she doesn't allow it to stop her! Quick to sample smoothies and tropical fruits, this kitty is beach girl to the bone! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a tranquilizing afternoon on the shore of the Indigo Ocean, and Lilac had just relaxed into her hammock. Beside her perched a parrot, its blue and golden feathers shimmering in the morning sun. Light filtering from the palms draping overhead cast glittering shades of azure blue across her glass side. "You know what this scene is missing, bird?" She glanced nonchalantly at her feathered friend. "A smoothie!" The parrot squawked in agreement, fanning its tail feathers with delight at the idea of a frosty treat. Slowly, Lilac reached out a paw, sipping her drink, and then offered it to the bird. "Life is good, isn't it? Yeah, it is." She sipped her smoothie once more. "Remember the time we founded the Smoothie Shack? Best day of my life!" She laughed, a gentle smile caressing her lips. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lilac was walking down the beach, sea spray glimmering off of her fur. She had woken early before the crack of dawn to surf the waves of Crystal Sands. She preferred to head out as soon as possible to avoid any awkward conversations about her condition. Darkened clouds had shrouded the cotton-candy blossomed sky, hinting at the coming storm. Lilac knew that she was never to surf in turbulent waters, and she frankly wanted to keep it that way. A towel covered her glass portion, hiding her oddity. She preferred life in the water to land, since her gift, as her mother called it, was extremely uncomfortable to talk about. In the midst of the misty waves, no one ever asked questions since she blended in perfectly. Rain spattered her fur, and she quickened her pace to a trot. Noticing an old abandoned shack, she swiftly ducked into it, hoping to find refuge from the downpour. Once inside, she glanced around curiously. Shattered glass littered the musty wooden floor, and the paint that had once adorned the walls had since pealed back to reveal a dusty dump of despair. Lilac's eyes gleamed with the fierce light of determination and ambition. "This sure is a fixer-upper," she mewed with a laugh. After retrieving a mop, a broom, and buckets of paint from her home, she quickly began to sweep. Sand swirled around her as dust bunnies frolicked in the afternoon sunlight shimmering through a boarded up window. Once the floor appeared half-decent, she started mopping, humming tunes to keep her mind occupied. A sudden squawk caused her to turn around. Behind her perched a stunning blue and gold macaw. It tipped its head as if perplexed by what Lilac was doing to its living space. "Oh, hi bird. You might wanna leave before I start painting." She continued mopping until the floors were a shiny golden brown. The bird remained in its spot. "Move bird." She shoved the mop in its direction. It recoiled before lunging and grabbing the mop between its mandibles with surprising accuracy. "You've got spunk." She grinned. "I like that." She left the bird to chip away at the wooden handle of the mop as she began painting. Swirls of blue and purple exploded onto the dull walls of the shack. After several hours, she considered her job complete. She sat down with a sigh of content. "This would make a great smoothie shack," Lilac said aloud. The parrot gave a shrill whistle of agreement. "I'll start collecting fruits and vegetables." And so the lavender leopard set about at her task. She brought a blender into the shack and set it on one of the tables in the back. "Now all I have to do is wait for some animals to show up," she said, glancing at the macaw fondly. It ruffled the feathers along the nape of its neck at the idea. Lilac sat back, laying on the hammock hanging from the ceiling that she had installed earlier. She read the island's magazine, The Venturer. The feline glanced up at the sound of approaching paw steps. She turned around and gasped. Before her stood a handsome young shepherd dog mix. His mottled bright fur gleamed in the sun. "H-How may I help you?" She fiddled nervously with the leaves behind her left ear. "Er, could I get a mango blueberry smoothie please?" He blushed, flicking his pink-tipped tail nervously.
