chapter 6- the skulk it had been a few months since the fire. autumn padded back to her sister with a rabbit in her jaws, ''great, now we can eat.'' stem said they had settled in the small rabbit hole and owned a small area of territory since they were so close to the skulk. stem said they should mark their borders on the skulk side. a male cub that was older than them came to them, ''what are you two doing so near our border?'' ''i-we-'' ''we were marking our borders'' stem interrupted. ''so these borders belong to two cubs'' the male fox said ''you are a cub yourself'' ''i belong to the skulk, in fact, ill take you two to the skulk'' ''aspen! what are you doing?'' another vixen's voice sounded from behind a bush, she leaped out. her fur was whiter than autumn's and her sister's own dark ginger pelts. the vixen looked at the two sisters and said, ''ill take you to our alpha. two pups like you shouldn't be living alone.'' chapter 7- welcome the two she-foxes were persuaded to come to their camp. they walked through a thick forest before arriving at a cave behind a waterfall. some foxes hissed and some foxes just stared at them with curiosity. ''intruders!'' ''what are they doing here?'' ''don't frighten them, they are only cubs'' a tall male fox appeared outside of one of the tunnels inside the waterfall cave, ''aspen, frost, what have you brought here?'' the intimidating fox asked. ''you know the markers on our border? well it belongs to these to pups. aspen,'' frost said, angling her bushy tail towards the younger fox, ''spotted them this morning, they seemed to be living alone'' ''well get these rougues of our territory'' the alpha fox growled, ''they are no use to us if they can't hunt and we have no one to feed them'' a mother fox, hearing what Alpha was saying squeaked shyly, ''A-alpha, if i may speak'' she looked up waiting for permission. he nodded ''these pups are defenseless if a wolf comes to attack, you know how common they are in this time of year. i can feed them along with my own pups if they cannot yet eat prey. please, i cannot bare to think that another fox is in need of care and i am just not allowed to help them'' Alpha though about it for a while, ''very well, as long as they don't get into any trouble'' he said, narrowing his eyes at the two young vixens. ''thank you,'' the fox mother nodded, ushering for Autumn and Stem to follow her. into a small den. Autumn felt greatfull for the fox mother to be in the skulk. so far she was the only one kind to them. ''hello young vixens,'' their adoptive mother greeted,''i'm holly. i was an outsider like you when i first joined, only old enough to fend for myself. i was lucky that there were one of the kinder alphas back then. the current alpha is tough. be careful, Autumn and Stem.'' Autumn looked at holly, no fox had yet told her their names, how did she know? chapter 8- pups Autumn woke up the next day next to Stem and Floral, their adoptive sister. her fur was dark ginger with black paws, just like holly's. Autumn and Stem padded out of the pup den together. their were some foxes gathering in a group as a patrol and some just laying around. one fox caught her eye. they had definitely looked like a fox but as she looked closer at him she noticed something ''what are you staring at?'' he growled ''y-your a cat!'' Stem said Autumn's thoughts out loud ''ill be more of a fox than you two pups will ever be'' he hissed. ''don't mind crow, he is really annoyed that he is the only cat in the skulk so the foxes underestimate him'' Floral's voice sounded from behind the two vixens ''do the other foxes know he is a cat?'' ''obviously, haven't you been listening to anythinng i have told you?'' Floral asked.
