Warning: For people who are easily scared, this might get scarier later. Not too scary, but you have been warned. Luna stared at her pale reflection in the mirror, not registering what she was seeing. Her auburn hair was now deep teal, and her green eyes had become a million times brighter. Luna looked out the window and gasped. Outside, nothing could be seen except darkness and a few shimmering lights in deep contrast to the usual bustling city. Luna walked dizzily downstairs, combing her fingers through her hair. The living room and kitchen were deserted. Then Luna saw a sticky note on the fridge. It read “if you ever want to see your family again, you will do as we say.” Luna crumpled the paper and shoved in her pocket. Probably some stupid prank. She had some cereal and braided her hair. Her brother must really be playing this out. She walked to his room to tease him. She only saw a splattering of blood on the wall, and a deep mark. Luna tried to think. But her mind was racing too fast to alight on one thought. This was real. And Luna’s family needed her.
