Type using letters and numbers. There is no backspace, only a erase all. You can erase all by pressing the up arrow and you can place a period by using the down arrow. The button on the bottom is the mode, when it is orange it means that it will be automatically clear all when the green flag is clicked, when it is not it means you can keep on typing your text and not worry about accidentally clicking the stop sign.
