I didn’t think I would post the first Coco’s Cafe like this but I guess I will. This is also a little comic, click the picture for next! You guys don’t know this but a couple weeks into quarantine my first cat Coco got sick. We found that there was a cancerous lump in her intestine that would cause her not to want to eat. The vet said she would have a few months with us before it got too bad, so we kept her with us. Weeks go by with her getting weaker and weaker, she drank but wouldn’t eat. She would always be in my parents’ closet or next to their bed since she couldn’t jump anymore. I would come to see her everyday, but it hurt me to see her like that. I would stroke her and you could feel her bones and spine. One day, I came in from the pool, I think it was April 17th, and went to see her. Sure enough, she was in my mom’s closet under some hanging clothes. I started to stroke her and realized she wasn’t moving. I ran downstairs to get my mom and she came in to see. She move the clothes and Coco looked up at her in confusion. It was a terrible experience because I knew it was coming but we didn’t know when. It came. On April 24 2020, my dad came into my room while I was drawing. He told me that Coco is very weak and it would be cruel to keep her alive while she cannot eat. She was starving. So my family gathered where she stays. She couldn’t move, and whenever she did she would stumble and almost fall. We all stroked her and told her we loved her and that we would miss her. I felt terrible, but I knew it was the right thing. We went down and got some lunch, and my dad told us that we should go in the pool and have fun, so we did. My mom took Coco in her pet carrier, and we didn’t go with her. Apparently she was calm and we think she knew it was her time. She fell asleep peacefully in my mom’s arms. When losing a pet, remember that they alway will love you and are waiting for you. Remember the good times you had, and cherish them. Remember its for them, not you. I love you all, and I hope you find happiness in this hard time, Ocean xx
