"I might share my last project before I leave Scratch for real." ...yeeeaaaaaaaah, forget what I said. I'm still planning to leave Scratch for good, but this project is not the last one. The reason why I haven't been very active on Scratch is because I'm very unhappy about the Scratch community itself. The community have gotten much less creative and more uninspired, nowadays, I see a lot of platformer projects that got front-paged every time I go to Scratch home page and they're not really great, most of them have uninspired visuals, short length, bad level design, slippery controls and lack of things that would make a platformer more unique and fresh. These generic platformers don't deserve to have thousands of loves and faves and don't even deserve to be in the front page, not even the curated tab. There's also a big issue going on in the community and that is "false reporting", where a bunch of people report an innocent project and gets automatically taken down. When a project gets taken down, the owner of the project gets auto-banned and that angered a lot of people in the Scratch community. The false reporting thing is very common on famous scratchers. I feel like people on Scratch don't use Scratch to unleash their creativity, I feel like they use Scratch as a social media to earn popularity which isn't what Scratch is about. Scratch is about coming up with an idea by imagining, program your own idea by coding and share your idea with the community, hence the motto of Scratch "Imagine - Program - Share". The reason why I had a lot of fun back in 2014 when I joined Scratch is because the community was much more creative and people didn't use Scratch to become popular. Nowadays, people are using Scratch to become popular which caused the community to be much less creative and the lack of creativity is what killed Scratch for me with uncreative trendy projects, platformers and... do people really report project to get taken down because they're jealous of popularity? The loss of focus on creativity is what caused me to give up on using Scratch. I didn't join Scratch to become famous, I joined Scratch to unleash my creativity What made the community fun for me is creativity and without it, the community feels bland and monotonous. There's not much to do on Scratch that will give me a reason to stay on Scratch - I don't find today animations to be entertaining for me mostly because I find them to be not appealing enough for them to be entertaining, plus most of them are from an overrated trend, example: Toilet Paper. Remixing projects, my favorite hobby on Scratch, well because of the community lack of variety, there's not a lot of remix chains worth remixing, the Number Evolution community died down a bit due to Twin leaving the community, but the other communities such as AY Community and collab community, are still rather dead. What I learned from my 6 months of experience on Scratch (since I rejoined it) is how dull and uneventful my experience was for the whole time. Also, one more thing I want to say is that I'm getting very old for this site as I'm 15 years old and Scratch is still targeting for young childrens. I moved away from Scratch to an app for gamers and I have a better time on this one. My final thoughts with this site is that I tried to enjoy Scratch and its community, but the lack of creativity and the over-emphasis on popularity caused me to have such a boring experience on Scratch, I tried to enjoy it, but I can't because how bland the community is and how uninspired the community have become. The reason why I don't have the motivation to make projects is because Scratch doesn't inspire me at all with its community. I have a better time elsewhere and I don't find myself coming back to Scratch again. Maybe, just maybe, if the community have improved like it was in 2014, I would find myself having a bit of inspiration to come back even if I'm getting quite old for this site. Though, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Also, about the "app for gamers", no I'm not going to share my username. Even if you found me for some reasons, I will not accept your friend request. Sorry. Anyways, I'm gonna stop here, that's a lot of typing. I'm sorry if I come off as close-minded and harsh, I'm very dissatified with the community.
<|===( CREDITS )===|> - @Alina-BlueSoul for original project. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/393766691 https://scratch.mit.edu/users/Alina-BlueSoul - Somnia by me! <|===( NOTES )===|> - I had too much fun remixing this project. - About my drawing, I would say that it's okay. - Also, I find myself running the project only for music, and I find myself listening to this music a lot. I wonder how this music is so addicting?
