The silence of the night was cut by the quick spurt of flapping wings and swaying leaves as Lycoris dove into a tree's hollow. It wasn't just any hollow; this spacious area belonged to Thallium- a green, four-eyed bat, and widely known to be Lycoris' cousin. Lycoris' expression was stiff with pure frustration, which was aided by his rigid, intimidating stance. Thallium barely turned as his cousin swooped in, too transfixed with his own thoughts to pay much mind to what was happening. "Thallium." He was jolted from his own mind as Lycoris addressed him sternly. "Ah, yes, yes." He turned fully around to face him. "My apologies I was just-" He went to explain but was abruptly cut off. "Look- I'm going to make this short." Lycoris began gruffly. "You don't have to show off during the camp hunts, no one thinks your interesting." He growled at Thallium, hiding the jealousy he truly felt. How could that green weirdo be better than himself? The green bat tilted his head. "Show off? Lycoris, I don't know what you're talking about." He spoke earnestly. "I've been hunting like I always have." "Don't play dumb, Thallium. I know an attention seeker when I spot one." He spat. Thallium paused, his expression remaining quite distant yet curious. "Are you feeling feverish? I'd be happy to treat you if so." Lycoris cringed away in disgust. <What is wrong with him? Why do *I* have to be related to this thing? Out of all the bats, I- the brilliant and unlawfully handsome one- had to have this green freak for a cousin!> . . .
