Name: Seishin Age: 27 Elemental Power: Spirits (summoning ghosts and spirits from beyond the grave) Status: Good (but sketchy) Strengths: Fog, obscurity, clouds, mist, general shadows Weaknesses: Food, light, water Lives: In a cave deep down below. She is also a messenger between the overworld, underworld and different dimensions. Personality: Kind, kinda sketchy (see why) generous, unwilling to sacrifice herself to defeat the darkness... because if darkness is defeated, the overwhelming light would kill her; it also gives other elementals conflicted feelings about defeating the darkness, so she tends to stay out of the way. Backstory/sidenotes to add: She was born an orphan - her mother had a coffin birth and her father was killed in a freak accident. Both of them were spirit elementals. Her father was often known as the grim reaper, however, because he took life. Growing up alone in a cave, surrounded by spirits to look after her, little Seishin grew lonely and isolated. But the kind spirits taught her to look after them, too, because she could destroy them with a flick of her hand. Entrusted with the magical spirit power of the dead by the age of 16, she set out to see the world. But she was dismayed to find that she was weak and easily defeated in the light, and was forced to retreat back to her cave. Depressed and alone yet again, she continued with her boring job of spirit messenger. When she turned 26, she received word that the storyteller was calling to her to head out into the light and help her defeat the darkness. Seishin was conflicted yet again. She wanted to defeat the darkness and help her fellow elementals - but she was a direct offspring of the darkness and therefore could not touch light well (like a vampire). The storyteller convinces her, however, via her otherworldly spirit - and Seishin travels by night around the globe. Eventually she finds Kaen, Akua, Ki and Kori wandering around somewhere (idk how the next part goes). She retreats to her cave out of fear for hurting them with her dark spirit magic. She meets them again when the elementals are being called together. She doesn't go, but Ki runs to call her directly. Convinced again, she decides to sacrifice herself to defeat the darkness, because if he dies, she does too. To be clear: Seishin was and never was evil. She had problems with her mental health, being the offspring of darkness, but it was the spirits who taught her kindness. Of course this would have already happened by the time she meets the main characters, but having a backstory does help in understanding characters. Hope you are well, Cookie <3
