This is a project to raise awareness about the world we are living in today. Whether you are in America or Canada or ANYWHERE else, racism exists and it needs to stop. Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer killed George Floyd, and it was wrongfully so. The officer kneeled on his neck while George was saying "I can't breathe" and was even calling for his mother. The officer stayed knelt on his neck even after George was unconscious, which shows that this was no accident. And it all happened because he was black. (There are twelve or thirteen police brutality complaints against Chauvin in Minneapolis alone.) Doing things to people; Slaughtering, arresting, shooting people all because of the color of their skin is sickening to me. It's disgusting. NO ONE should have to put up with it. Ahmaud Arbery was shot THREE TIMES on a PUBLIC street because he looked suspicious. Officers started following him to his destination and pulled the trigger THREE TIMES on him. A lot of people are saying Ahmaud did it himself, in an attempt to take the gun away from the officers, but how would he accidentally do that THREE TIMES? Breonna Tayler got her apartment broken into and was shot in her own home, just because she was black. She was shot. She was an EMT as well. She died on March 13, 2020. A bird watcher, Christian Cooper, saw a white woman (Amy Cooper) walking her dog near the bird-watching area, where all dogs must be kept on a leash. He politely asked her to please put her dog on a leash, as she didn't have it on one. Amy then starting tugging on her dog's COLLAR and threatened to call the police on Christian. Amy said she would tell the police that there was an "African American man threatening me and my dog's life", and she kept saying that over and over again, meanwhile, Christian said; "PLEASE call the police". Amy Cooper knew the consequences and the likely death penalty any black man would get if you called the police on them. Christian Cooper is still alive today, but the racism was still not okay. None of these good people did ANYTHING wrong at all. They were convicted/killed/called the police on them simply because of the color of their skin. Racism and slavery have been happening since the very early 1600s. And it is STILL going on. People say it's not but it IS. It is going on, it never stopped, it just changed. Check out Kristina Maione and creators like her, along with checking out the Black Lives Matter studio here on Scratch. (Please do not listen to Liberty Hangout or anything Kaitlin Bennett says about this >-<) Saying Black Lives Matter is not racist towards any other race or ethnicity. We have to deal with the biggest issue first, which is the awful racism against black people. SO MANY black people are wrongfully injured/killed/arrested just for being black. I don't have the exact statistics on this, but it is a lot. It's not racist to say BLM. It's right. Saying ACAB doesn't mean what it stands for exactly- it's saying how many cops are killing innocent people all the time, how they are LEGALLY allowed to sexually assault people while that person is in custody. Cops are literally shooting unarmed protestors in Minneapolis because they are black and considered a 'threat', and then the ARMED white people in front of hair salons protesting because they WANT a HAIRCUT can be laughed at and not called a threat is RIDICULOUS and DISGUSTING. And if saying ACAB is generalizing, let me just say it's really not. It's towards those cops that actually go through with these disgusting and awful things. Take a stand.
