When the orphanage owners saw Zephyr's bat-like wings and horns abover her ears, they belived she was cursed. Their suspicions of that grew when they saw Zephry slowly beginning to fade away, starting at the end of her tail. When Zephyr and her brother and sister were seven moons old, they ran away from the orphanage to live their own lives, and when Adanna and Basil decided to make their livelihood by working as palace servants, and invited her to come too, she refused, because she was embaressed for any royalties to see the monster that she was. Soon after, Zephyr's legs and wings began to fade, and Zephry Laraine gave up and decided that there was no cure, and that she'd just slowly disappear from Alas Isle. Zephyr is a Greek name, and means strong wind, like a gale. Laraine is Latin-americain, and means sorrowful.
